those closest

It's like standing on a stage with all the world to see me. Everything's okay until I stand in the living room with the people closest to me. Eye to eye. Face to face. My voice trembles. My prose wobbles.

Why? Those closest will forgive. Those closest already know.

that I'm human

Carrie, I love you. That's all. Please keep writing, please keep praying, and I will pray, too. I'll call you soon, or you can call me when you get a moment. I'm in Michigan now, but my cell still works. Gracious, how I just wish I could be with you for a weekend. Love much, Winner #2

Well, I don't know if I'd call myself among the winners, but I WAS in attendance at K-State when "winner" was the word of the year. And...I do love both of you so much my heart twinges physically and wish I could spend a few hours with both of you! I'm praying for you both in your life's adventures and trust God to keep you stable, inspired, and content with your current mission fields in Texas and Michigan. Amazing how it's Kansas that has connected us and yet God has scattered us abroad. I think of God's command to Noah after the flood in Genesis 9, "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." Well, we're not being asked to replenish the earth with people anymore (at least two of us better not be at this time!) but I do believe he's asked us to be fruitful (multiplied beyond our own goals!) and replenish the earth with faith and good works right where He's landed us. Love you both from Illinois!

Why are we all so scared to be ourselves? to be simply what God made us to be?
